Noscapine Analogs

Cougar is conducting preclinical development of analogs of CB3304 (noscapine). These analogs appear to have higher tubulin binding activity than CB3304 and affect tubulin polymerization differently than CB3304. In addition, these analogs appear to be able to arrest cell cycle progression at mitosis at concentrations much lower than CB3304 and appear to be more active than CB3304 in inhibiting the proliferation of various human cancer cells, including those that are resistant to paclitaxel and epothilone.
