Alan H. Auerbach
Chief Executive Officer, President and Founder

Mr. Auerbach joined Cougar Biotechnology, Inc. in May 2003 as Chief Executive Officer and President. From June 1998 to April 2003, Mr. Auerbach was Vice President, Senior Research Analyst at Wells Fargo Securities where he was responsible for research coverage of small and middle capitalization biotechnology companies, with a focus on companies in the field of oncology. He had primary responsibility for technical, scientific and clinical due diligence as well as selection of biotechnology companies followed by Wells Fargo Securities. During 2002, Mr. Auerbach ranked second in the NASDAQ/Starmine survey of analyst performance for stock picking in biotechnology. From August 1997 to May 1998, Mr. Auerbach was Vice President, Research Analyst at the Seidler Companies, Inc., where he was responsible for research coverage of small capitalization biotechnology companies. Prior to his work as a biotechnology analyst, Mr. Auerbach worked for Diagnostic Products Corporation, where he designed and implemented clinical trials in the field of oncology.

Mr. Auerbach received his B.S. in biomedical engineering from Boston University and his M.S. in biomedical engineering from the University of Southern California.




Arturo Molina, M.D., MS, FACP
Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President, Clinical Research and Development

Dr. Molina joined Cougar as Senior Vice President, Clinical Research and Development, in May 2007. He brings to Cougar over 20 years of clinical investigation and drug development experience in oncology, encompassing both the biotechnology industry and academic settings. From 2002 until joining Cougar, Dr. Molina held a number of positions at Biogen Idec, most recently serving as Senior Director and Acting Head of the Oncology/Hematology therapeutic area in the Department of Medical Research and Clinical Development. In that role, Dr. Molina was responsible for all in-house and co-developed clinical stage hematology and oncology drug candidates. Prior to Biogen Idec, Dr. Molina was a faculty staff physician and an Adjunct Professor at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center where he held numerous positions in the Division of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation and the Division of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research. Dr. Molina also served on the Board of Directors of City of Hope Medical Group and was President-Elect of City of Hope Medical Staff.

A graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Molina also received an M.S. degree in Physiology and completed his post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Medical Oncology, Biological Sciences and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Stanford.




William F. Daly
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Daly serves as Senior Vice President, Business Development. He brings to Cougar 20 years of management experience encompassing business development and finance, investment banking, and corporate and securities law at both public and private companies. Prior to joining Cougar in August 2008, Mr. Daly was Vice President - Business Development at Allergan, Inc., where he developed collaboration strategies for the neurosciences therapeutic area and oversaw international M&A activity. Mr. Daly has also held management positions at Chiron Corporation, where he was responsible for business development activities for the biopharmaceutical and vaccine business units; LumiCyte, Inc., where he developed strategic corporate alliances and formulated financial policies, systems and controls; and the investment banking group of Prudential Securities, where he was a Managing Director and his responsibilities included execution of corporate finance transactions, primarily for healthcare companies. Mr. Daly was also CEO of Primal, Inc., a neurology company that he co-founded with Dr. Linda Buck, the winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize for Medicine.

Mr. Daly, a licensed attorney, received his JD from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also holds an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and an AB in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.




Richard B. Phillips, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance

Dr. Phillips joined Cougar in February 2007 as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. Since 2005, Dr. Phillips was employed by Amgen Inc., where he was the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Global Regulatory Leader for Vectibix™ (panitumumab), which received FDA approval in 2006 for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Prior to Amgen, Dr. Phillips served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at Chugai Pharma USA from 2002 to 2004, where he was responsible for eight development programs in five therapeutic areas, including oncology. He has also held regulatory affairs management positions with Pfizer Inc. (Parke-Davis), Johnson & Johnson (Janssen, L.P.), Sandoz (Novartis AG) and Structural GenomiX.




Charles R. Eyler
Vice President of Finance

Mr. Eyler joined Cougar Biotechnology, Inc. in September 2004 as Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining Cougar, Mr. Eyler served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Hayes Medical Inc from 1999 to 2004. Prior to Hayes Medical, Mr. Eyler held several financial positions including Director of Finance and Administration at Alphatec Manufacturing, Inc., Division Controller at JBL Scientific, Inc., Division Controller at Surgitek, Inc. and Financial Systems Director at Zimmer, Inc.

Mr. Eyler received his BS from Drexel University and his MBA from Saint Francis College.




Thomas W. Griffin, M.D.
Vice President of Clinical Research and Development

Dr. Griffin, a physician scientist, joined Cougar in May 2008. He brings to the Company extensive experience in academic research, clinical oncology, and drug development in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Cougar, Dr. Griffin was Therapeutic Area Head and Executive Director of Oncology Therapeutics at Amgen, Inc., where he oversaw the successful launch of the company's first oncology therapeutic. From 1999-2006, Dr. Griffin was employed by Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute, where he led the Oncology/Immunology Group and served as Executive Director of Clinical Discovery, Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Medicine (oncology). His responsibilities included design and implementation of the Phase III program for breast cancer, which led to successful registration of the drug candidate. He also filed a number of NDAs, BLAs, and European Marketing Authorizations for oncology drugs. From 1993-1999, he led the U.S. Oncology/Hematology group and directed Therapeutic Research Oncology at Hoffman-La Roche, Inc. Dr. Griffin has served as principal investigator for numerous NIH and industry-sponsored laboratory and clinical investigations of new anticancer drugs and biologics. He has published over 120 papers in cancer biology and clinical research.

Dr. Griffin is board certified in oncology and internal medicine. He received his M.D. degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency and fellowships in medical oncology at Harvard Medical School's Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Center.




Christopher M. Haqq, M.D., Ph.D.
Vice President of Clinical Research and Development

Dr. Haqq joined Cougar in March 2007, bringing to the Company over 8 years of clinical and translational research experience in oncology. From 2005 until joining Cougar, Dr. Haqq was employed by Amgen Inc., where he led the Early Development Oncology Group. In that role, he successfully recruited and managed a team of M.D. and M.D./Ph.D. clinical scientists for Amgen's Phase I and Phase II oncology product candidates. Dr. Haqq previously was a faculty member in the Departments of Medicine and Urology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He also served as an attending Urologic Oncologist at the UCSF Prostate Cancer Center under the leadership of Eric J. Small, M.D., who is Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for Cougar's cancer drug CB7630 (abiraterone acetate).

Dr. Haqq received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in 1996 from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in medical oncology and molecular medicine at UCSF.
